Prerequisites

  • Preferences are stored locally with AsyncStorage

Open guides from the appNew

At the top of Settings, a tutorial card opens a guide from this documentation in the device browser. The guide varies between camera, effects, projects and, on iOS, RAW and manual controls. Viewing it uses internet; opening a guide does not send a photo.

Camera and effects preview

Settings → Camera contains guides and viewfinder appearance. Settings → Effects preview controls LUT, Halation and Grain in the live image; on iOS, also Double Exposure and Stacking previews. The saved result uses high-resolution processing and may differ from the preview.

  • Retro style: changes viewfinder presentation. When off, the interface uses soft preview edges; this appearance does not change the saved photo.
  • Grid: adds composition lines.
  • Level: shows device alignment.
  • Histogram: shows live luminance distribution when the active pipeline supports it.
  • Highlight indicator and Shadow indicator mark exposure extremes in the iOS preview. Focus peaking highlights edges to help with focus. These indicators do not appear in the saved photo.
  • Shutter sound: enables or disables the app's own sound without overriding system rules.

App language

In Settings → Language, choose Portuguese, English, Japanese, German, Spanish or French. Automatic follows the device’s primary language; unsupported languages use English. Your manual choice is saved on the device. Project names, LUT names and authorship are preserved.

The website supports the same six languages. Use the language selector in the header to switch without leaving the current page. Your choice is saved in this browser for one year. On your first visit, we follow your browser’s primary language when supported, otherwise English. Website and app language preferences are separate.

Widgets and ShortcutsNew

On iOS, open Settings → Widgets and Shortcuts and create presets with a name, icon and color. Set a filter, format, aspect ratio, camera, flash, timer, grain and halation or keep the current settings. You can also choose a background image from your library.

  • A panel holds up to eight presets. The medium widget shows the first four; the large widget shows up to eight. In the iOS widget gallery, find Komorebi, add Camera preset or Camera panel, then edit the widget to choose a saved item.
  • The Preset Komorebi control opens the full camera after unlocking your iPhone. It can be used on the Lock Screen, in Control Center and with a compatible Action Button.
  • In the Shortcuts app, Open preset and Open configured camera only open and configure the camera; you decide when to take a photo. Options incompatible with the lens are skipped with a notice.
  • Preset settings last for the session, including navigation and returning from the background. Closing the app restores saved preferences. Presets and background images stay local, without iCloud sync.

Capture and metadata

  • Save copy without effects: keeps a version without LUTs, grain or halation when applicable.
  • Save location: writes GPS only to new photos and only with permission.
  • Choose the format from the File format shortcut in the TopBar. Capture and files includes Megapixels, copies without effects, authorship, location, Photographic Styles and HEIF+ development settings on iOS.
  • Authorship: writes author and copyright to future captures without changing existing photos.
  • Editing in Apple Photos (experimental, iOS): applies Styles 2/3 to HEIF output, including Portrait, stacking and HEIF+. Pauses during Live Photo; Bayer RAW and ProRAW apply styles only to the selected processed companion or derivative, without changing the DNG.
  • Megapixels: choose 12, 24 or 48 MP separately for RAW and HEIF/JPEG, within lens and mode limits. Custom LUTs lets you import and remove local .cube files.

Controls and diagnostics

Controls and gestures saves vertical, horizontal and physical button shortcuts. The general timer is temporary and chosen only in the TopBar.

In About and support → Share usage and diagnostics, control usage sharing with PostHog and error reporting with Sentry. The option starts enabled. Turning it off blocks new transmissions and discards pending usage events; the services do not start on the next launch. Requests already in progress may finish and previously sent data is not deleted. These integrations do not send photos or location.

TopBar

In Control bar, choose up to eight shortcuts and set their order; Settings stays available and cannot be removed. Available options depend on lens capabilities, operating system and permissions.
